Bath, Wilton House, and Stonehenge

Yesterday we went to Bath, the Wilton House, and Stonehenge!

My most favorite piece of trivia about Bath?

Jane Austen (aka author of one of my favorite books ever, Pride and Prejudice) moved to Bath in 1805 following her father’s death.

As the name probably hints, the town of Bath has…ancient Roman baths! Bath was colonized by the Roman Empire during its peak…but the water is now disgusting and I wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot pole.

We didn’t have a lot of time to get lost, which I regret, but what we were able to explore was absolutely charming. It kind of reminded me of Paris!

Afterwards we went to see the Wilton House, one of the houses that served as Pemberley in the 2005 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. The crazy thing is that the 18th Earl of Pembroke actually lives there!

Last stop was Stonehenge (aka pile o’ rocks). But, it is a World Heritage Site so it was kinda cool. Smaller in real life, just like the Statue of Liberty.

We went to Chatsworth House today and it was the stuff of my dreams. Photos up tomorrow!!
