Confession: I feel like I’m a bad Californian. I almost never venture out to the city (the city, around here, being San Francisco), and pretty much never go any farther than that. Ha.
That’s the downfall of living somewhere, I suppose. People always ask me if I’m in the city all the time, but that’s the pitfall of suburbia. So close, but so far. I guess if you live in Florida, 45 minutes from San Francisco is a walk in the park. But when you live 45 minutes away…you get lazy. I have the “I live here so I can go any time” mentality. And when I say “any time,” I mean never, because I can go, well, any time.
Finally, I decided that “any time” meant “during winter break.” Mount Tamalpais, which towers over Mill Valley, was #2 in the lineup of “Places To See in My Hometown. So we went. It was glorious. Slippery, cold, bumpy, rocky, and glorious.
